Back in 2023 a grant was awarded to The Trin, Cleethorpes. Andy Cox, General Manager of the Trin Centre told us. "The donation that we received from The Tribune Trust allowed us to complete works to our skatepark after our insurers instructed us to close the facility as they deemed the facility to be ‘unsafe’ due to recurring accidents on the site." Uneven concrete was removed and cracks in the facility have been repaired which satisfied our insurers giving us the green light to reopen the facility before the Easter holidays last year. The Trin Youth Committee member Vuk went on to say, “It is good that we can ride the bowl again, there is nowhere like this in Cleethorpes and the only safe places like this round here charge for using the facilities.” The Trin Youth Committee member Oliver said, “Me and my friends love coming here, when we was told that it was going to close we was very upset.” The Trin Skatebowl has had over 200 young people use the site over the summer period. We have run tutorials and matersclasses as part of our HAF - holiday club programme which were really popular.
