In 2022 the Tribune Trust made a donation to Welcome House, a local registered charity, set up in 2020, working across Hull and East Riding, offering welcome and support to asylum seekers and refugees in order to make them feel welcome, included and supported. The Trusts Director Steve Clayton Re visited the welcome house and spoke to Bashir Siraj, General Manager. Bashir said that welcome house is doing really well and is providing a safe warm and hospitable base for service users to meet, they are providing wholesome food, also education and sign posting to other agencies. The charity is now 3 years old and they are able to provide the experience, care and passion they need to help the service users. Last year they had 15000 footfall through the front door and without the kindness and generosity from our friends like the tribune trust, we would not be able to continue. Bashir asked me to pass on his sincere Thanks and told me that the door is always open for us to visit.
