Supporting safer communities in the Humber Region
The Wellies Explorer Scout Group meet at the St Matthew Parish Hall on the Boulevard in Hull. This area is an area of great social deprivation. This years Scout Jamboree is to be held in Lincolnshire. Scout groups from all over Europe will attend. The Wellies Group wanted to attend this meeting but had no tents. They applied for a grant and were awarded £1,000 from the Tribune Trust in order to be able to purchase the equipment that they need. On Thursday the 3rd of March, 2022, The High Sheriff, Richard Shepherdson visited the Group in order to present the cheque. He has a wonderful evening sampling the pancakes that the Group prepared. Great fun was had as he led the way in some skilful pancake tossing competitions. It has to be said that even though the pancakes came in many and varied colours they were delicious. Our thanks go to Josh, Dean, Emma and the rest of the Group for a super fun filled evening.
