Positive Activities in NE Lincolnshire
14/11/2017
Positive Activities is a social enterprise based in North East Lincolnshire. Since 2007 they have worked with schools, colleges, health and social care providers, businesses and community organisations. They deliver creative, sporting and adventurous activities to engage and inspire people to become more active in their community.
The Tribune Trust is delighted to be able to support Positive Activities in their plan to facilitate two large multi-activity taster sessions in the local area. Here participants of all ages can engage in several of the sporting based activities that are available. Based upon the results of the taster sessions, Positive Activities will then run weekly activities for 5 months for everyone to attend.
Through the programme Positive Activities will aim to identify ten local people who will be offered the opportunity to join the coaching team. They will then complete in-house training modules as peer mentors and volunteers.
The range of activities that will be offered will include traditional skittles, laser clay pigeon shooting, archery, golf, biathlon laser target shooting, Frisbee disc golf and many more.
The long-term goal of the project is to achieve good active participation levels and to promote sport and active recreation which is also one of the main aims of the Tribune Trust
