Bubwith Community Youth Club

10/04/2017

Bubwith Community Youth Club are a self supporting group run by volunteers and, because of their location, their members do not have access to the activities and experiences enjoyed by their peer group who live in urban areas. This is because of their rural location, limited transport links and the financial pressures felt by families. The Club's aim is to help their young people adopt healthy and active lifestyles and widen their experiences. The Club consulted its members and they wanted to extend the art and craft provision that is offered at each weekly session. This is a popular activity and provides an alternative activity for those who do not wish to participate in sport. Members would like to make pottery, jewellery and undertake art activities associated with festivals. The Club approached the Tribune Trust who were delighted to make a grant of £300. Treasurer Anne Young, youth leaders and members are seen receiving a cheque from the Director. Paul Cheeseman said 'The Tribune Trust is very pleased to make this grant to extend the activities of the club. It will ensure that those who do not enjoy sports can still take an active part in the life of the Club'
